The North County Metropolotain Transit System
actually has a very cool website to help people get around. You just
enter a starting address and an ending address, and they will give
you
step-by-step instructions
on how to get to any location in San Diego. The only trick is
knowing how to use the site.

open the MTS's
Bus Trip Planner
The
following is search criteria that you will NEED to include
in the Planner to make sure you get to the group on time:
1) For the "Destination:"
you need to put "S MELROSE DR & MATAGUAL DR, Vista"
2) For the "Date
of travel:" the group meets every Thursday.
So check your calender and make sure you are selecting the
date
that will be the Thursday you plan to go.
3) For the "Time of travel:" make sure you select
"Arrival
Time", (NOT "Start
Time"). This way your map will tell you exactly what time you
need to leave your house in order to get to the group before 6:00pm when
everything starts.
4) Select "6:00
PM" (or a little earlier to be on the safe side) for your Arrival Time.
5) For the "Starting
Location:",
The website still gets a little confused with street addresses. It's
best if you know of a bus stop near by, and you
would then enter the two cross streets that the bus stop is on. For example,
if there is a bus stop in Encinitas on Leucadia Blvd that's very close
to Saxony Rd., you would put, "Leucadia Blvd & Saxony
Rd, Encinitas". When you hit next, it will ask you to "clerify" the streets
from a drop down menu just to be sure. Select an option that is closest
to what you want and hit "Continue". It will then display a schedule
that you can print out along with the fare.
6) The bus will let you off at the
Vista Court House. As you will notice, the schedule
that the MTS makes for you is actually based on an estimate of how
long it will take you to walk to the address after the bus lets you off.
From
here you will walk AWAY from the freeway down Melrose Dr until you hit
Matagual Dr. You
will then cross the street at the light and go in to the big white building. You might want
to bring along your iPod or a magazine to pass the time
on the bus. |
